International Women’s Day is a very important holiday in Estonia.
It is a day when women and mothers receive flowers, gifts, candy, and a show of appreciation.
Today the Tallinn Town Hall was filled with the beautiful music of the Estonian National Opera.
For this special day we would like to salute a very influential woman from Estonia that we are especially proud of. Her name is Anu Tali and she is the only female Estonian conductor to make her mark on the international stage.
Along with her twin sister Kadri, they founded the Estonian-Finnish Symphony Orchestra in 1997, when Anu was only 25 years old.
From everyone at Discover Estonia, we wish all the women, everywhere in the world, a Happy International Women’s Day!
